Tuta absoluta in Israel

Israel confirms the presence of Tuta absoluta.

The NPPO of Israel (PPIS) recently informed the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) Secretariat of the presence of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae – EPPO A2 List) on its territory.

A survey was carried out during December 2009 and confirmed its occurrence in Israel.

The pest status of Tuta absoluta in Israel is officially declared as: Present.
