Malta - Vegetable production down 11.8 per cent

The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs is said vegetable production had fallen by 11.8 per cent when compared to the second quarter of 2008.

 The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs is said vegetable production had fallen by 11.8 per cent when compared to the second quarter of 2008, and this led to scarcity and a rise in prices. Factors which led to this drop included the pest tuta absoluta which had been the cause of a drop in tomato production.
